Agenda:
What's PDM and PLM Got To Do With Me?
What is PDM or PLM? Why do we need to know about it? " I'm an Engineer. I don't do Data Management....."
Is this what you really think? If it is, you are not alone. My goal during our time together is to give a different perspective on why managing your data and using a PLM tool actually makes sense to a designer/engineer. At the least, our time together will be a good forum to discuss the pro's and con's of Product life cycle management (PLM) and to bat around some new ideas related to the subject.
By definition a PLM system is used for managing and disseminating product data throughout your entire company, from concept to end of life. PLM technologies have been around for a number of years and the concept seems straightforward, but in fact it means different things to different people and that is what we want to discuss. This is session open to Designers, Engineers, CAD Administrators, Engineering Managers and IT professionals.
Presenter: Mike Leone
Michael Leone comes from KeyTech PLM (Western Territory Manager). Keytech PLM is Solidworks first Gold Partner in the PLM business. He has over 15 years of CAD/PDM sales and implementation experience and 15 years of direct Mechanical Design experience.
He was the Northwest Territory Manager for SolidWorks Corp and the Western Regional Manager for Hewlett Packard /CoCreate. He was also a High School teacher, Network Training Manager and Mechanical Product Designer. He was also founder and owner of Parallel Product Design in the Bay Area (a mechanical consulting firm).
Education: MA in Education from the University of Portland; with a BA in Industrial Studies from San Jose State University
Please RSVP with the meeting sign-up form located in the left side bar so we can plan refreshments for everyone.
Looking forward to seeing you August 11th.
Regards,
Anna Wood
